Holiday Beauty: Mastering The Seasonal Glow

Hi guys! I know, it’s been a minute, and I’m spilling the reason why now.

With the holiday season rapidly approaching, excitement and work have been at an all-time high and it’s been overwhelming, but in the best way possible. Why’s that, you ask? Well, I’ve hinted at it before, and this week, I’m letting the cat out of the bag: I am moving to New York City after the holidays! My lack of posts recently has been due to me orchestrating my move out of the amazing Marina apartment that has been my home for 5 years here this past weekend, while simultaneously taking on new endeavors in my professional career in technology sales (which sparked the move!). I’m also super excited to take my blog along on this adventure and have so much exciting content to share with you along the way. As always, follow along on my Instagram stories for clips of my real life and journey behind the camera!

…back to business now.

Holiday Beauty.

I fucking LOVE holiday beauty: the special edition makeup palettes, glitter, and bold lips and dark nail tips speak to my soul. I also love adding in my staple pops of neon where appropriate. This week, I wanted to give a shout out to the phenomenal glow of Fenty Beauty. I’ve been wearing it since September, and have no plans of stopping anytime soon. Highlighters were at the forefront of the original collection, and it was my first purchase as well. Highlighting is also going to be HUGE for the holidays this season (insider secrets from my fave beauty contacts). If you haven’t jumped on board just yet, now’s the freaking time.

For this week’s look, I also wanted to showcase a fall-friendly color scheme outside of my usual go-to’s and settled on a cool toned burnt orange at the heart of it. This tone is everywhere right now, and these two deeper matte and metallic tones on the bottom row of the Natasha Denona palette are just incredible. It paired so well with Fenty’s Lightning Dust/Fire Crystal Killawatt Highlighter.

I’m also rounding up my top picks of limited edition holiday beauty sets and colors from my favorite retailers below, so you can snag them before they sell out!

My Holiday Must-Haves

Fenty Beauty Cosmic Gloss Lip Glitter: This thing is a cult fave for a reason! This glittery and tinted version got me hooked. I am obsessed with the Garnet one for the holidays!

Hourglass Ambient Metallic Strobe Lighting Palette: Hourglass has paved the way for strobing, and this special holiday release has several darker hues that will be perfect for seasonal parties.

Huda Beauty Desert Dusk Eyeshadow Palette: I LOVE Huda Kattan, and have been obsessed with her lashes for years. This palette definitely does not disappoint either. There are so many ways to create your own personal burnt orange or red for the holidays this season!

Natasha Denona Holiday Eyeshadow Palette: Natasha Denona has created an unbelievable product when it comes to her eyeshadows. They aren’t dried out or hard to work with like some shimmery shadows. Instead, her formula is unmatched when it comes to blending. This one’s also under $50, and I used colors in the Aeris #2 palette here!

Becca Apres Ski Glow Face Palette: Holy OMG! These gorgous wintery hues are perfect for illuminating your fall and winter face.

Drunk Elephant Volume 3: Let’s Dew It Kit: You really thought you’d get out of here without a skincare recommendation? Not a chance! I am obsessed with Drunk Elephant, and now for the holidays, you get a kit of travel sized product to try out for yourself at a lower price point! I can honestly say my skin looks and feels better after using this hydrating kit over the past month as the temperatures have dropped.

Banana Republic x Olivia Palermo: My NYFW Recap

Hello again loves! It’s been a whirlwind of experiences and work since Fashion Week begun, I know I have been a bit MIA here, and I am finally back in the blogging groove to share the biggest highlights and inspiration I brought home with me to San Francisco. One of my favorite collections I experienced was on the second day of Fashion Week, for Olivia Palermo’s capsule with Banana Republic. I wanted to share it first because it is GOING.TO.SELL.OUT. There were pieces that fit into every season, making it not only a transitional piece you can add to your closet, but also incredibly timeless. I fell in love with all the soft details and muted patterns (I’m not even a pattern kinda gal) and HAD to snag this incredible lace adorned sweater the second I saw it in darker colors.

Not only is it beautiful, it’s also incredibly comfortable, and easy to pack. I am jet setting a little more these days, so it’s super important to me to find outfits that aren’t high maintenance when it comes to being packed and photoshoot ready shortly thereafter. It resists wrinkles and plays well with my active fashion pieces like my fave pair of Carbon38 pants. This show was incredible, to say the least: it was hosted in 5th Avenue’s Banana Republic, a beautifully immersive and intimate event with other bloggers and media. I’m STILL pinching myself that I had the chance to meet Olivia Palermo in person, and even get a picture with her post show! She’s always been a style idol of mine: timeless, strong-willed, and effortlessly gorgeous. She’s even more beautiful and sweet in person!

At New York Fashion Week, I paired it with this amazing skirt from the Target x Victoria Beckham collection, and it was a total hit. I even got my very first street style feature on AOL wearing it at the Banana Republic x Olivia Palermo show that day!! I was ALL about being comfortable and fashionable this year, and it’s a trend that’s not going unnoticed these days. Be true to yourself, and wear things that make you happy and feel your best inside. It’s the spirit of this blog, and a concept I will continue chasing, so many exciting things are to come, so stay tuned!

You can shop the collection now, and I will be linking my other must-have picks below, to save you on time (and the horror of missing out on popular pieces!):
